Chambishi Metals is committed to the continuous support of St Nicholas school, and as a result delights in watching the pupils learn and grow to become future leaders.
On 19 April, Chambishi Metals donated six computers to St Nicholas, and were warmly welcomed by a guard of honour comprising boys and girls in their school uniforms. As the computers were handed over, the national anthem rang out, sung by the children and followed by songs of jubilation in thanks for the computers.
Simba Muchena (Chambishi Metals’ Finance Manager) emphasised the importance of education and ensuring that the children are equipped with the best resources to excel in their studies. “Our commitment is to change the lives of the vulnerable children in the community, because Corporate Social Responsibility is important to Chambishi Metals,” he said.
Mr Kaonga, District Education Board Secretary, on behalf of the Mayor of Kalushi, expressed gratitude for the computers as they had come at a time when new teaching methods were badly needed. He urged teachers to ensure that the computers are put to good use to achieve improved learning and teaching methods and benefit pupils.
