Almost 150 players of various nationalities and backgrounds, including Africa and Europe, were welcomed by the Lubumbashi Golf Club on 5 October for its three-day traditional tournament – one of the largest sporting events in the DRC. Although not mining industry related, the Lubumbashi Golf Open is one of the three biggest events in the region’s calendar. The other two are the DRC Mining Week and Katanga Business Meeting, both at which our company had a presence this year.
ERGA was one of the sponsors at this well attended event, seizing the opportunity to showcase our involvement in the region. Caroll Demoura (SABOT’s DRC Manager) participated in the women’s category and scooped second prize.
