Solid waste recordkeeping is always a challenge. On World Habitat Day, 1 October, Metalkol RTR focused on addressing this challenge by instilling awareness of the importance of solid waste management among our employees and contractors.
In the first week of October, we launched a competition by collecting all the waste registers with records of waste collected at various points. The Musonoi pump station area was announced as the overall competition winner. The team received an environmental trophy symbolising growth and development while caring for the environment. Each employee also received a re-usable cotton bag to eliminate the use of plastic bags.
